miHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Achieves PlayStation Success
Following the success of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, miHoYo's latest action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero, has made a strong debut on PlayStation. The multiplatform title has quickly gained popularity, solidifying its place amongst top-performing games on the Sony console.
Circana's "US Player Engagement Tracker Top 10 Titles" report revealed ZZZ's impressive performance. The game recently secured a position within the top 10 most popular PlayStation games, competing with established titles like Elden Ring and Minecraft. The ranking is based on weekly user engagement, excluding playtime data.
Launched on July 4th, ZZZ's initial impact was significant. It quickly climbed to the #12 spot on the PS5's Top 40 most-played games chart during its launch week. Further success is evident in mobile revenue, with PocketGamer.biz reporting nearly $52 million in gross player spending ($36.4 million net) within the first 11 days. Peak daily spending on July 5th reached $7.4 million across the App Store and Google Play.
While not yet exceeding the overall success of miHoYo's other titles, ZZZ's performance is noteworthy. It's now ranked alongside gaming giants like Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Roblox. The game boasts a 4.5/5 star rating on the Epic Games Store, with players praising its engaging boss battles and compelling narrative.
