Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) announced significant leadership changes, effective April 1, 2025. Hideaki Nishino has been appointed sole CEO of SIE, succeeding the previous co-leadership structure. This follows the retirement of Jim Ryan last year, which saw a split leadership between Nishino and Hermen Hulst.
Simultaneously, Sony Corporation announced the promotion of Hiroki Totoki to President and CEO, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao has also been promoted to CFO.
The press release highlights Nishino's expanded responsibilities, now encompassing all SIE operations and the platform business group. Hermen Hulst remains as head of PlayStation Studios. Nishino, a Sony veteran since 2000, previously served as SVP, Platform Experience Group.
In a statement, Nishino expressed his honor at assuming the CEO role, emphasizing SIE's commitment to technological innovation and creative content development to expand the PlayStation community and deliver exceptional entertainment experiences. He specifically thanked Hermen Hulst for his contributions.
