Capcom has announced an extension for the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour outage of the PlayStation Network that disrupted the previous testing session. The PlayStation Network experienced an "operational issue" starting at 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until 24 hours later. In response, Sony compensated all PlayStation Plus members with an additional five days of service. During this period, gamers were unable to access online games, and even some single-player titles requiring server authentication faced issues.
The second beta test for Monster Hunter Wilds, which was highly anticipated, was cut short due to the network outage. Originally scheduled to run from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9, Capcom has now extended the next session by 24 hours. The revised beta test will now take place from Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT / Friday, February 14 at 3am GMT until Monday, February 17 at 6:59 pm PT / Tuesday, February 18 at 2:59 am GMT. Participants during this extended window will still be eligible to receive the participation bonuses that will be available in the full game.
Despite the interruption, players were able to experience the challenge of facing a new formidable enemy in the game, known as Arkveld. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch officially on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
