Path of Exile 2's Atlas Endgame: A Comprehensive Guide to Delirium
Path of Exile 2 introduces four major endgame map events: Rituals, Breaches, Expeditions, and Delirium. This guide focuses on Delirium, a returning mechanic from previous PoE leagues, detailing its initiation, mechanics, rewards, and the associated Simulacrum Pinnacle event.
Understanding the Delirium Fog Mechanic
On the Atlas, Delirium map nodes are marked with a distinctive white and black icon resembling the Delirium Mirror. You can guarantee a Delirium event by placing a Delirium Precursor Tablet in a Lost Tower.
Within a Delirium map, locate the multicolored Delirium Mirror near your spawn. Activating it unleashes a spreading circle of Delirium Fog. The Fog's difficulty increases as it expands; exiting the Fog ends the encounter.
Enemies within the Fog are significantly stronger but offer unique rewards: Distilled Emotions (used for crafting) and Simulacrum Splinters (for summoning the Pinnacle Boss). Fractured Mirrors within the Fog spawn additional waves of enemies and loot. Be aware of the possibility of encountering powerful bosses, Kosis and Omniphobia, during the encounter. These are not Pinnacle bosses, but they can appear within the Pinnacle event.
The Simulacrum Pinnacle Event
Delirium Fog enemies, particularly at higher Waystone tiers, drop Simulacrum Splinters. Accumulate 300 splinters to create a Simulacrum, which you place in the Realmgate on the Atlas.
The Simulacrum is a challenging 15-wave encounter with increasing difficulty. Delirium bosses have a higher chance of appearing in later waves. Completion rewards two Delirium Passive Skill points and a guaranteed unique item.
The Delirium Passive Skill Tree
The Delirium Passive Skill Tree, located on the Atlas Passive Skill Tree (top-right section), modifies Delirium encounters. It features eight Notable nodes and eight nodes increasing Simulacrum difficulty. Each new Notable node requires completing a Simulacrum at increased difficulty.
Notable Delirium Passive | Effect | Requirements |
---|---|---|
Get Out Of My Head! | Waystones have a 20% chance to have an Instilled Emotion effect. | N/A |
Would You Like To See My Face? | Delirium Fog doubles difficulty scaling and Splinter stack size. | Get Out Of My Head! |
You Can't Just Wake Up From This One | Delirium Fog dissipates 30% slower. | N/A |
I'm Not Afraid Of You! | Delirium Bosses have 50% increased Life, but drop 50% more Splinters. | You Can't Just Wake Up From This One |
They're Coming To Get You... | Unique Bosses spawn 25% more often; slaying rares pauses Fog dissipation. | N/A |
Isn't It Tempting? | 30% chance for an extra reward, but Delirium Demons deal 30% more damage. | N/A |
The Mirrors... The Mirrors! | Delirium Fog spawns Fractured Mirrors twice as often. | N/A |
It's Not Real, It's Not Real! | Delirium enemies drop 50% more reward progress, but Fog dissipates faster. | N/A |
Prioritize "You Can't Just Wake Up From This One," "Get Out Of My Head!," and "They're Coming To Get You" for optimal reward increases without significant drawbacks.
Delirium Rewards
Delirium Fog-affected enemies and bosses drop Distilled Emotions. These are used to Anoint amulets with Notable Passive Skills or add guaranteed modifiers to Waystones.
Simulacrum Splinters, also dropped by enemies, combine to create the Simulacrum for the Pinnacle event, yielding Delirium Passive points and a unique item. Mastering Delirium will significantly enhance your endgame progression in Path of Exile 2.
