Pokémon TCG Pocket is making significant changes to its trading system, addressing player concerns about the previous implementation. The biggest change? Trade Tokens are being completely removed. They're replaced by Shinedust, a new currency earned by opening booster packs and receiving duplicate cards already in your Card Dex. Players can convert existing Trade Tokens to Shinedust.
Further improvements are planned for Shinedust, including its use in obtaining flair. A future update will also introduce an in-game function for sharing cards you wish to trade.

The initial trading system faced criticism due to its restrictive nature and reliance on difficult-to-obtain Trade Tokens. These restrictions were necessary to prevent in-game abuse, a challenge inherent in digital trading environments.
While these changes are welcome, the rollout is slated for autumn, leaving players with a considerable wait. This slower-than-desired pace highlights the ongoing development process.
