In the thrilling world of *Phasmophobia*, tracking and identifying the most elusive and dangerous ghosts often requires the use of items like Cursed Possessions. One such item, the Voodoo Doll, is both a tool and a risk. Here's how you can find and effectively use it to enhance your ghost-hunting experience.
The Voodoo Doll stands out as one of the safer Cursed Possessions in Phasmophobia, offering a favorable risk-reward balance. Despite changes from game updates, it remains a valuable asset for ghost hunters.
The primary function of the Voodoo Doll is to provoke the ghost into revealing evidence-related actions. This is achieved by inserting pins into the doll, one at a time. This method is particularly useful for dealing with uncooperative or silent ghosts, encouraging them to produce signs like EMF5 or Ultraviolet prints.
The doll contains 10 pins, each of which can trigger these actions. However, be cautious as each pin inserted costs 5% of your sanity. Inserting all pins can deplete up to 50% of your sanity, significantly increasing the risk of ghost hunts.
The most critical risk is the pin located in the doll's heart. Inserting pins is a random process, and if you hit the heart pin, it will instantly reduce your sanity by 10% and trigger a Cursed Hunt. During this hunt, the ghost will spawn near you and the hunt will last 20 seconds longer than usual.
Despite these risks, the Voodoo Doll's ability to gather crucial evidence can be invaluable, provided you are well-prepared and aware of the potential dangers.
Cursed Possessions, often referred to as "Cursed Objects," are unique items in Phasmophobia that appear randomly across various maps. Their appearance can be influenced by difficulty settings or if you're playing in Challenge Mode.
Unlike standard equipment designed for safe ghost detection and evidence collection, Cursed Objects serve as risky shortcuts that can manipulate ghost behavior. The decision to use them rests with you and your team, and there's no penalty for choosing not to.
Each map features only one Cursed Possession per contract, unless modified in Custom settings. There are seven different types of Cursed Objects available in the game:
