Deadlock Gets a Big Update from Valve

Valve has released a major update for Deadlock, completely revamping its core gameplay with a redesigned map. Gone are the four lanes; in their place sits a more traditional three-lane structure, bringing the game closer to the familiar MOBA format.

This shift dramatically alters gameplay. The previous "1 vs 2" lane distribution is obsolete. Expect to see two heroes per lane, necessitating a complete re-evaluation of team strategies and resource allocation.

The map's redesign extends beyond lane structure; neutral camps, buffs, and other key elements have been repositioned. To help players adapt, a new "map exploration" mode has been added, allowing for unhindered exploration of the revised layout.

The Soul Orb system also receives an overhaul. Players can now collect souls without directly securing the kill, leading to faster resource accumulation. Further refinements include reduced soul effect hover times.

Beyond the map and Soul Orbs, this patch includes sprint mechanic adjustments, character balance tweaks, and enhanced performance. Support for DLSS, FSR, NVIDIA Reflex, and Anti-Lag 2.0 has also been added. Numerous bug fixes round out this substantial update.
