Key Game Mechanics
Before each round, players submit their orders, limited by their available Movement Points. Civilizations then execute actions in a randomized turn order.
Map and Territories:
Your capital is paramount. Losing it for three turns leads to your civilization's downfall. Conversely, capturing an enemy capital grants you control of all their provinces. Capitals offer a significant +15% bonus to both defense and offense and start with all buildings constructed.
Unclaimed provinces appear transparent, while colored provinces indicate ownership by other civilizations. The map offers adjustable zoom, with a double-tap returning to the default view. A top-right minimap exclamation mark signals a non-standard zoom level.
Economy and Population Management:
Utilize the Economy and Population buttons to monitor each province's resources and inhabitants. The diplomacy button allows you to track ownership and engage in diplomatic interactions.
Treasury Management:
Your treasury is fueled by income tax, determined by your total population and economy. Military upkeep, however, reduces your treasury, with naval units incurring higher costs than land-based units.
Order Types (Normal View):
- Move: Relocate units between your provinces or initiate attacks.
- Recruit: Raise new units, consuming funds and reducing population.
- Build: Construct buildings in your provinces at a cost.
- Disband: Remove units to lower military upkeep.
- Vassalize: Establish a vassal state with another civilization.
- Annex: Bring a vassal state under your direct control.
Order Types (Diplomacy View):
- Declare War: Initiate hostilities.
- Propose Peace: Negotiate an end to conflict.
- Non-Aggression Pact: Agree to avoid attacks for five rounds (cancellable with notice).
- Form Alliance: Secure an alliance for mutual military support. Use the War order to inform allies of your targets.
- End Alliance: Dissolve an existing alliance.
- Provide Support: Offer financial aid.
Building Types:
- Fort: Increases provincial defense.
- Watchtower: Reveals enemy unit numbers in adjacent provinces.
- Port: Enables naval movements. Sea units can return to any land province, regardless of port presence.
